Nice park!
By user-5274706... on 2017-10-23.
Traveling through the area, checked on this place last min & was so glad I got in! The sites are gravel & just enough space between neighbors. It's not a very big park so you feel like you have it to yourself. We walked to the lake close by & played horseshoes in the pit. It was so nice!! There is a nice playground for smaller children. The price of $15 can't be beat. Stay here!!! I would def stay here again!!

Nice City Park. The drive in takes you thru the beautiful historical section of town. All sites W/E only (30 & 50 amp available) and fairly level. Dump station at entrance. Must get key for restrooms/showers at office, but you can keep it for your entire stay. Older restrooms, but in good condition and very clean. Restrooms can get hot during midday, but are ok mornings and evenings. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. Old fashioned Playground in the middle of the park. Lovely place for a walk or to walk your dog. Pull thru and back in sites. Call ahead to reserve a pull thru if you need one.

This campground was a pleasant surprise. It is next to a small lake and a very well kept park. Everything was so neat and clean. We didn't use the shower house or bathrooms, but the grounds are immaculate. The price was reasonable. Hats off to Gothenburg!

Well kept city park campground. Clean shower/toilet.
By user-6676022... on 2019-08-09.
We stayed one night in late September. We arrived in the early evening. The friendly campground hosts live in the house by the entrance. The shower/ toilet building is heated and was very clean. For the men there were two simple shower stalls, separated by a shower curtain, and a single, walled but very small, flush toilet stall.
The sites are both back-in and pull through. Some sites have no depart separation and may be doubles that are suited for family units. Each site has electric, a table, and a yard light. A bathroom key is issued to each camp site, and this key also opens a metal bin that houses free firewood.
The park near the camp sites has a horseshoe area, A rodeo grounds across the street, and walking paths leading to a nearby lake.
Gothenburg is a small but fairly wealthy town. The homes are well kept, the area feels safe, a park near the town center contains an actual log cabin that was used as a Pony Express Station in the area. It houses an interesting, and free, museum about the Pony Express. Restored, large homes from the 1800 s and early 1900s are in that area and the museum has brochures for a self guided walking tour of the homes. That little park also has many speciesif trees, each with a plaque with the common and scientific name of the tree. Near the Interstate is a sod house and small museum about the lives and living conditions of the early settlers of this area.
Gothenberg, and its campground, are well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Beautiful area. Large trees and lots of grass. We did not get satellite or ota signals here. One would have to be lucky to get a signal from any of the sites. Water and electric with a dump station. Fees are on the high side for a city park facility.

This was a great place! Quiet, beautiful , serene park. Water and electric pull though. Very nice couple running it. Close to town. Highly recommended. We even got satellite and had great cell service. Cash or check only. There are trains somewhat close by. We didn't hear a them until night. Not horribly disturbing but keep that in mind if you're a light sleeper.
