staff is very nice! didn't have a reservation and stopped on a saturday. lady at the check-in found part of a group spot for saturday night. said to let her know if we wanted to move after that night. sunday almost everyone left - we have a lakeview spot with no neighbors for $25 with electric and water at our site. full hook up (with sewer) is $30 but no water views. you do have to pay $5 day for park entrance or buy a year long pass

Great park, beautiful view of lake. Lots of birds to watch and squirrels. If have a group, then will love three camper wide spaces with electric and water.

| Huge sites, lakeside cliffs, and fake buffalo.

The North Loop is ideal...full hook-ups with huge level yards, fire rings, pic tables, and young trees growing in between sites that will eventually offer even more privacy. There seem to be some equally attractive elec only sites on the other loops...some with lake views (#89 is ideal). $25 with a ND park pass. The park has a nice clean trail cut around the park that will take two hours at a leisurely pace. Some of the trail is along the "cliffs" of Lake Sakakawea and you will encounter many nice picnic spots along the way. Don't miss the buffalo on top of the hill near the guard house! **Spoiler alert!** They are metal cut out silhouettes, of which I did not realize until I got closer. (I pranked my dog...lol) There is a grocery store with a Redbox up at the junction, and I spoke to a nice veterinarian in town that is reasonably priced, as well. Unfortunately, other than the standard meds, there is nothing you can do about the aggressive tick population at this time, so keep the tweezers handy.
