One of the best!
By user-5898703... on 2017-10-23.
Really enjoyed staying here. Big park with lots to do. Lots of trees, big recreation area, clean bathrooms. Bike down to the beach and enjoy the sunset. We even biked around the trails they have. Would love to visit again. On a cross country trip from CA and this was one of the best we visited.

Great location
By user-5866149... on 2017-10-23.
We were here for 5 nights. Quiet and will maintained park. Small sandy beach on Lake Pontchartrain. Can be in New Orleans in 45 min. The sites are fairly level but very few have FHU. The sites with the best trees dividing them are for tents only - no water or electric. But the sites are nicely spaced. We had no trouble navigating our 33ft TT.

Great park!
By user-6178082... on 2017-10-23.
Had a nice night. Just stopped on the way through $24.00 for the night. I have a TC but the pull through sites look like they will handle any big rig. There are a lot of things to see and do here. I took a nice hike, took some awesome pictures off the pier of the sunset. Was there right after some big rains so the hiking trails were wet and some impassable. Everything looks well taken care of. I really liked the history of the place. Only complaint is the girl that checked me had the personality of a duck. Not overly friendly.... But wasn't bad enough to wreck the awesome night and morning we had. I would definitely stay there again!

Nice Park!

Very nice. Level sites. Decent space between sites. WIFI actually works. Good cel coverage (Verizon) and good TV reception over the air so meets all the 'necessities' for 21st Century camping! Just stayed overnight but would like to return to explore the nature side of the park.

Love this one!
By user-6308891... on 2017-10-23.
This park is beautiful. There isn't a site that I saw that wasn't nice! They have lots of pull through sites that are very private and huge. Only a 30 minute drive to New Orleans. We have stayed in a private campground in the heart of N.O. and paid $95 to be parked right next to I 10. We are glad to have found this gem instead. Much nicer to have the wooded sites and to hear the birds and crickets. Only weirdness is that the camp host (right across from us) let's his dogs run free in the campground. At least they are nice.

Wide open with weekend warriors from New Orleans. Not bad if in a pinch.

Nice park!

We spent six nights at Fontainebleau State Park in our 40’ fifth wheel. We had site #74, the only pull-through with sewer hookup in the park. The pull-through was asphalt and curved. The asphalt was broken up in places and this made it somewhat difficult to get level. One peculiar aspect of our site was that the electric and water hookups were on the door side so we had to run our lines under our rig. The entry roads are mostly one-way and are somewhat tight in the turns for a big rig but we managed. There are much more spacious pull-throughs in the South Campground but these lack sewer hook-ups. The campground was very nice and provided nice amenities such as a beach, fishing pier and nature trails. We spotted an armadillo, several deer and a couple of wild boars in the park. The laundry room was quite small but the restrooms were nice. Grocery stores are a few miles away in Mandeville and major shopping is a few miles farther in Covington. We would recommend this park.

Best camping experience!

We have decided that state parks are the way to go! The staff was friendly, super clean bathhouses with lots of hit water and lit electric hookups. Beautiful walk to the beach and pier. Though we only stayed overnight, this was one of the most relaxing stays! We will come back!

Beautiful spot
By user-5439412... on 2018-03-14.
We stayed in the north campground in a large private site. Water and electric ,dump. $ 30 pullthru site. They do have a few full hookup but the sites aren't as nice.needed extensions for both water and electric. Beautiful park with a lot to do in the area. New Orleans is a 45 minute drive across the longest over water bridge in the world. Free Wi-Fi weak at times. Free washers , dryers only a dollar.we would definitely stay here again.

Lots of pull-thru sites w/water, elec (dump stations in park). Clean bathrooms, showers, free laundry. Beautiful park w/oak trees hundreds of years old, great beach, pier right on Lake Pontchartrain. Splash pad for kids (of all ages). Walking, biking trails & ranger walks.

Trees!
By user-5343501... on 2019-08-09.
The pull through sites were interesting. They are kind of half moon shaped. With the power and water on the right side instead of left. So that s something to be ready for. Lots of wildlife, we saw deer walking by in the day time. The trees are amazing. We ve been here twice and the water always has a bacteria warning. So we don t swim. Nice bath and shower. Really good bike trail.
