Best One Yet

Spent a week here in July. Arrived to check in and our packet was ready so that whole process took about 3 minutes. Biggest, cleanest, best managed RV park we have visited ever! Sites were beautiful and very spacious for our 38' MH and trailer. We will be back!

Spent two nights at the park. Very good park, well worth the price.

Staying at Elkhorn RV Resort outside Spearfish SD. Large, clean place with tons of extras. Large, paved parking pads, big enough for the largest of rigs. Fantastic bathroom and showers. Two large dog parks, tennis, basketball, pool, cabins, play grounds and walking paths. Beautiful sculptures scattered l over the park. We got a late season rate of $40 ($37 after Good Sam). Cable at each site and our space is picking up a good wifi signal. We would definitely stay here again!

Resort amenities, very nice, not much shade
By user-6676022... on 2019-08-09.
We stayed one night near the end of September-- off season. No problem getting a site, and the rate was reduced to $40 a night. Very popular and reservations recommended during peak season, according to another camper. This is an upscale, resort type campground and the prices are usually higher than we paid. There is a beautiful clubhouse, large pool, tennis courts, and more. Very well maintained, sites are flat, paved, have full hookups, cable TV, and the ones I saw all appeared to be long and were pull throughs. Easily accommodates Big rigs pulling another vehicle. Our site near the shower house was 100 Ft long. The shower house was immaculate and featured multiple, large individual rooms-- each containing a big shower, flush toilet, and sink/counter. The shower house also has a very nice laundry facility.
The only negative is that there is almost no shade ( probably not a big issue given that the rigs staying here most likely have air conditioning).
This is part of a resort property that has a nearby gas station/convenience store, and has residential home sites available for purchase. The town if Spearfish is a short drive away via the Interstate, as is the scenic drive through Spearfish Canyon.

Clean, well appointed resort. Paved sites with grass between. All the amenities including discounted golf across the road. Nice cabins for non-RVers. Good Verizon and DISH satellite reception. Nice location for access to the northern Black Hills.

This is the most beautiful campground we have ever stayed at. Well spaced, concrete pads with full hookups. Plenty of drive thru sites and beautiful pool. Basketball and tennis courts, walking path, cabin. My only complaint is they spoiled us and no other campground will ever compare. The staff is professional and polite. We will be back!

Yep, it s NICE!
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
Well, it s as nice as everyone says. Wide roads, level concrete pads, full hook ups w/cable, clean and private restrooms, dog area, friendly staff, nice little store, beautiful views and the list goes on and on. (never tried their Wifi) We have seen most every type of TT or RV to come thru the park from Prevost to Pop-ups. Everybody is accommodated no matter what you have or what you are pulling. I have seen some great set-ups I never even knew existed. I would not hesitate to stay again and certainly recommend it to others as well. We are still here and enjoying ourselves with all the local sights to still take in. You are about 60 minutes away from Mount Rushmore and Custer State Park, 15 minutes to Sturgis, 10 minutes to Deadwood and the Blackhills National Park and it s scenic roads are only miles away. If there is one thing I could downplay about the park it s the pool area is small for the amount of people with a lack of lounge chairs. The park is large and even though it s only half full now that the 4th of July crowd is gone, the 15 or so lounge chairs were all spoken for on a slower Sunday afternoon. A bigger pool would be awesome as the kids (and I love kids) dominated the older crowd but we all enjoyed ourselves!
Great place to come and try whether you re staying overnight, a few days, a week or even a month or longer! Nice job Elkhorn Ridge owners!!!

Nice grounds, rude Check in
By user-5304676... on 2019-08-09.
The ground are beautiful, looks "luxurious"...so I was SHOCKED when I went to check in and the front desk was so short with me and frankly, in my eyes, quite rude. There was ZERO explanation of the park, or what it had to offer. She just circled our spot on the map and said there's your spot and left me with a pamphlet to read about the amenities.
That being said, the pool was great, even had a kiddy pool for the littles. Playground was nice too.
If you dont care about first impressions or interaction with the staff, campground was nice.

Okay
By user-unknown on 2019-08-09.
Owners have spent a lot on decor and the sites are clean, staff members were nice. It was surprising that as close as it is to I-90, the Verizon cell signal was poor. Sprint is non-existent in SD apparently. We were also surprised to see they let a camper stay with a large (120-130 lbs) pink pig.

Very nice and clean park. We were there 3 days before Sturgis Motorcycle rally started so the place was packed, we were lucky to get a spot. There was mostly very big rigs and still plenty of room to maneuver around. We were there to see Mt Rushmore and the other sites in the area so we were gone most of the day. I definitely want to go back and enjoy the park more.
