This place surprised us both because from the pictures, it looked kinda dumpy. We pulled in and registered at the office. Staff was very friendly and informative. No sewer hook up, but the bathouses were really nice. It even had free laundry. This was the first and only place I ve seen to do this.

Large level spots. Pretty area. Rates were reasonable. Free laundry, although I didn't use it. I only stayed one night in a 31 ft Class C. Water and electric only at the site. Nice level dump station.

Tons of room between sites, very private. Nice bathrooms, FREE laundry. Lovely playgrounds, nice walking paths on boardwalks, good biking. Half hour from French Quarter

Stayed here 3 nights while visiting New Orleans. Sites are back in with 50 amp and water, dump station in park. Sites very spacious, parking on blacktop pad. This park is in a urban area, security is good but services (restaurants, markets etc near by). Easy drive to Algiers ferry. $5 all day parking and ferry is $2 or $1 for seniors. They just started charging so have exact change. The ferry which is a short ride across the Mighty Mississippi drops you at the base of Canal street. We stayed here, during Mardi Gras, our neighbors were Adventures Caravans. There is a pool and other amenities but we did not use them as we were here to see the Big Easy!

Good location about 15mins from ferry over to the city. Great space and lots or area and grass. Good facilities for the price at only $20 a night and $3 per person entrance one off fee. Hated all the mosquitos but they are everywhere in Louisiana. Take bug spray and repellant. Used a good service center here about 10minutes drive.

The location is great for the price, only about a 15 minute drive from the French Quarter and centrally located to any kind of stores you would need. However I did find the staff a little difficult and unreliable at times. One lady that worked the counter was extremely unwilling to help and seemed like she needed more training. But two of the ladies were very helpful and knew what they were doing. One man cleaning the bathroom propped the door wide open while my husband was showering, my husband shut the door (it was 45 degrees out) and he propped it open again, instead of waiting 5 minutes for him to finish up and then debated with him why he was doing it. Also the gates were not on schedule the way it was informed. At one point both the front and back gates were both locked and there is no phone number to call in case.

Very nice place in January. Seven miles to downtown. Helpful staff and quiet surroundings. But you will not find it using any GPS. Keep map handy.

Perfect campground very quiet and close to the town but there is no sewer
By user-6033080... on 2017-10-23.
Pretty with lots of trees. Asphalt pads and roads. Huge lots. Nice facilities. Free laundry machines. Close to NO. Wifi was bad. Sitting right under an antenna I couldn't get a useable signal. That's the only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars.

Nice facilities - good location - easy drive to the ferry. LOTS of mosquitos in September though.
By user-5288410... on 2017-10-23.
Well spaced wide paved lots. Very clean bathrooms. Free decent WiFi and laundry. Quiet yet close to New Orleans. Use street address instead of Park name for GPS or it will take you to locked night entrance. Main gate is off of Drake. Staff very nice.

The only thing I like to say is that we have stayed there a few times and it was nice I left my rig down there for two days and went to north la to get my wife and know one broke in are messed with anything of ours it's very safe place to stay

We stayed for two nights and found it to be a quiet, peaceful place near NOLA. The sites are spread out enough to provide privacy even though there aren't many trees or shrubs in-between. There's a great seafood market just outside the entrance with numerous vendors. We used the ferry to get into town and enjoyed the experience. It was only $5 to park all day, and $4 round trip for two seniors. The laundry is free, but be prepared to wait in line. Mosquitos could be a problem, but we were there on a cold day.

We got there after the office closed there was no way to pay I had called earlier and they said just park and drop it off in the morning the problem was we left before the office opened the gates were locked from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. so we assumed we couldn't leave during that time only to find out there was a back entrance into the park that was open we usually leave around 4 in the morning we like to travel during the cool part of the day so we wasted 2 hours just sitting there cuz we woke up early by habit... too many bugs to go out walk around and enjoy the park and fire ants everywhere it was a cute Park if they got rid of those two items and the office was trying to give out better information

We stayed here for about a week while visiting New Orleans. Only $25 a night, 10 miles from New Orleans, free laundry, clean bathrooms and showers, level spots, fire pits, etc. Would highly recommend!

Stayed 4 nights. Well run park. 15 minuets from New Orleans, free laundry, clean bathrooms and showers, level paved sites, fire pits and picnic tables. Sites are located far apart so you don’t feel crowded by your neighbor. Would have given 5 stars but WIFI sucks and when I asked the office to re-boot it they blew me off. Would stay again

Very nice state park with great shade trees and very level large campsites. It is a beautiful oasis located in the middle of the New Orleans metropolitan area. There is a ferry which takes you into the French Quarter that is very convenient. You do have to go through a lot of interstates to get to the park but it is not far off Business 90 so fairly easy to get too.

Great park, nice big roomy lots. Park police, gated. Bathrooms were clean, plenty of good hot water. Laundry room with washer and dryer, no charge. 15 minute drive to French Quarter. Walmart, grocery stores, and great variety of restaurants just across the river in Harahan. Will be back for Mardi Gras next year!

The other reviews say enough about the campground, we really liked it, very well maintained. One of the reasons we chose this park was because he wanted to be close to downtown NOLA and the French Quarter, we do not tow a car, so we were very concerned about how we are going to manage getting around. Uber is freely available but it can be kind of expensive. The ferry at Algiers Point is the way to go. There is a pay parking lot right at the ferry and on a Saturday we park our 28 foot RV there, cost 20 bucks. I was somewhat apprehensive before going there because I was afraid they wouldn't have room for an RV, but they do accommodate us and the attendant says that some people even stay overnight there. So this worked out great. We are able to take the ferry over to the French Quarter, eat and drink as we pleased, and then took a little nap in the RV in the parking lot before we headed back to Bayou Segnette Campground. One word of caution, during the big special events such as Mardi Gras and the Jazz Festival the rates in the parking lot can triple or quadruple.

The sites are nice, but there are limited bathrooms and showers, and the showers tend to be super hot or super cold with no in between.

Always wonderful here. Big sites, easy to get in, convenient to NOLA.

If you don't like this park, you're nuts. Would have 5 stars except for lacking sewer hookups. Very green, and lots of space between spots. You would never guess you're so close to town.

Nice Park and nature, thats it. Today no warm water in shower. Pools are closed, no information. Lame WiFi
By user-4997870... on 2018-05-17.
Pretty park. Big sites with concrete. Had a shade tree. Water and electric only at site but dump station available. Stayed near bathhouse. Water temp was iffy, scalding hot 1 night and freezing the next. Oh well. Free laundry facilities. Wifi is free but wouldn't load anything and we parked near the booster to get a good signal, nope. Took the ferry into New Orleans from Algiers, I'd recommend it. Getting in from i10 in our rig was sucky because of traffic but manageable. All in all I say it's a good place. People were friendly. Felt safe. Pools weren't open yet so no feedback on them. Stayed 3 nights. Traveling in a 40ft bus and towing a jeep.

A pleasant but barebones park with just water and electric (and dump station) and great water pressure! Connected to the state park which we didn't explore and close to NOLA. Tip: do take the ferry at Algiers point over to NOLA... the easiest way to get there and inexpensive, too. Yes, that is the parking lot directly to the right of the ferry terminal. At the end of Morgan street.

Stayed 4 nights in December. We paid $31.95/nite including taxes. Spacious sites. Back-in for our 34 ft. Class A left plenty of room for our tow vehicle. It's a bayou, so there's water everywhere. Friendly staff and hosts. WIFI not good but we don't depend on it. Easy city access. We would return.

Very clean, showers were only cold one day, but typically hot. We always felt safe and camp was diverse and staff was very very friendly and personable!

This park is beautifully set up with LOTS of space between RV sites. The sites are very long, paved and level. There are nice trees and well marked hiking trails. Every site has a picnic table, fire ring, and grill. Nice plus is free laundry. You can catch a ferry about 25 minutes away which takes you to New Orleans for $2 plus parking. Great place to stay and visit New Orleans!!

Nice sites but not much shade in most of them. The WiFi is free but is very slow. The pool opening is optional.
